During 14 and 15 July 2021, extreme floods hit parts of western Germany, eastern Belgium, and parts of Luxembourg and the Netherlands. As the TERENO Eifel/Lower Rhine Valley observatory is located in the area affected by the flood event, the TERENO Data Discovery Portal contains compiled information from a time window around the July 2021 flood events from a multitude of measurement systems of the TERENO network.

A technical short course with focus on the use of micrometeorological methods to obtain and analyze fluxes of momentum, heat and gases by eddy-covariance. We expect the course participants to be familiar with basic statistics, time-series analysis (including spectra and Fourier transforms), programming in R, Matlab or Phyton and general boundary layer meteorology. The successful completion of the course is awarded with 2 ECTS.
This TERENO-NEON carbon and critical zone workshop is aimed primarily at early career scientists (PhD students, PostDocs, master students preparing to start a doctorate will be also accepted) and all scientists interested in emerging issues and methods wishing to broaden and deepen their knowledge or to identify new research opportunities.
